Objective
The Okanagan Society Of Independent Filmmaking wants to work together with Okanagan businesses to create an event that showcases the talent and potential of the Okanagan’s young creative pioneers in film, video and new media.
Goals
Create an exciting and challenging contest and festival for young filmmakers.
- Get the buzz out there that the Okanagan has world class talent in film, video and new media.
Provide excellent sponsorship opportunities for:
- businesses with an interest in film, video and new media
- organizations with a mandate to support youth and or economic development in the Okanagan.
- businesses marketing to males and females aged 16-34.
Solution
The Okanagan Society Of Independent Filmmaking will be holding its inaugural 5-Day Film Challenge starting on June 4th 2010. Participants will given a common element that must be featured in the film and 5 days to complete the project. The films will be judged by OSIF members and guest judges and all entries will be screened on Friday, June 11th in Kelowna. The challenge is open to the general public. The OSIF will be making an extra effort to attract teams from Okanagan Valley High Schools, Centre of Arts and Technology (CATO), University Of British Columbia’s Okanagan Campus (UBCO) and Okanagan College.
How can we help each other?
Our festival would not be possible without business partners. Your contributions help us provide the resources and mentorship necessary to support the creative pioneers in the Okanagan film, video and new media. In exchange for your support, you will be given the opportunity to reach hundreds of students, alumni, industry representatives, and moviegoers throughout the Okanagan, while showing your commitment to young filmmakers throughout the Okanagan Valley.
